Heritage watch workshop in Malaysia

Preserving history, restoring precision.

We restore vintage, antique and family timepieces with respect for their provenance. Our workshop handles movements, dials, cases and hands with a careful touch so each watch keeps its character, memory and mechanical integrity for the next generation.

About the Workshop

Watch restoration as craft, discipline and responsibility

Astralyxus Heritage Watch Workshop goes beyond routine repair. Every piece is treated as a carrier of history: a family keepsake, a meaningful gift, an inherited object or a collector’s watch. We work with mechanical and antique timepieces where long-term reliability matters just as much as preserving original parts and finish.

Our approach is deliberately conservative. We restore what is necessary for safe performance and refined presentation while avoiding unnecessary replacement, over-polishing or the loss of authenticity.

Detailed Diagnostics

Movement inspection, wear analysis, amplitude check, mainspring review, pivot assessment, escapement evaluation and case condition reporting.

Hand-Finished Restoration

Cleaning, lubrication, correction of damaged parts, fitting, polishing and regulation are performed with a bench-made approach.

Respect for Originality

Whenever possible, we preserve patina, engravings, enamel details and the original geometry of the case and dial.

Transparent Recommendations

Before work begins, you receive a clear explanation of the condition, proposed tasks, estimate, timing and practical advice.

Our Process

Clear workflow, transparent quotations and respect for the value of every piece

We do not work blindly and we do not promise unrealistic outcomes. The workshop’s goal is to restore dependable function and visual integrity without stripping a timepiece of its historical character.

1. Initial Evaluation

You bring the watch to the workshop or describe the issue by phone or email. At this stage, the watchmaker performs a visual assessment and shares a preliminary price range.

2. Diagnostics and Quotation

After opening the movement, we prepare a detailed estimate with required operations, possible risks, expected timing and parts needs. Work starts only after approval.

3. Restoration and Testing

The watchmaker carries out cleaning, repair, case or dial restoration and then tests the piece for rate stability and reserve performance.

4. Collection and Care Advice

You receive the restored watch together with handling guidance and service assurance. When useful, we also document before-and-after condition for your records.

Why clients return to us

  • honest advice on whether restoration is worthwhile;
  • clear pricing without hidden add-ons;
  • craft-driven work instead of generic service routines;
  • protection of sentimental and collector value;
  • careful handling of rare and sensitive components;
  • repair options for pieces without modern documentation.
Lead times: from 7 days for a basic service to 4–8 weeks for complex restoration work.
Service assurance: up to 12 months on completed work when care recommendations are followed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to know before restoration begins

How long does vintage watch restoration usually take?

The timeframe depends on the movement’s condition, the need to source parts and the scope of work. A basic service can take 7–14 days, while complex restoration may take 4–8 weeks.

Can a watch be restored after many years of inactivity?

In many cases, yes. After inspection we will explain whether restoration is technically possible and whether it makes sense in terms of cost and originality.

Do you replace original parts?

Only when it is necessary for proper operation and the original part cannot be safely retained. Our first priority is to preserve as much originality as possible.

Do you work with heirloom and pocket watches?

Yes. The workshop accepts family, pocket, desk, mantel and antique watches, including unusual pieces and non-standard movements.
